Green Gal of the Week: Susan Sarandon
As promised last week, we’ve got our new Green Gal of the Week segment up and running—Enjoy!
Newly single, (sorry Tim), with a penchant for younger men (sorry Tim), well endowed (sorry Tim) and strapped into a Toyota Prius, this week’s Green Gal of the Week is Susan Sarandon.
Ms. Sarandon is a true-blue green hippy chick. Best known for left-leaning activism and the outspoken support of EMILY's List, UNICEF, gay rights and a multitude of worthy causes, she makes our Green Gal of the Week list for two reasons.
Reason Number 1: Susan is a longtime Toyota Prius driver. In fact, she and her then husband (sorry Tim) showed up to the 2005 Oscar awards in their hybrid. Stepping onto the red carpet from a Prius rather than a long, black limo was Susan’s way of flipping the bird to the Bush administration and its environmental policies.
Reason Number 2: Her nuclear reactors. Ironically resembling the San Onofre power plant in Southern California, “Dammit Janet’s” most popular assets always precede her. And we guarantee, some of the scenes in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Hunger are sure to cause a nuclear reaction of your own.
