Can the Hybrid Save Detroit?

Can Ford Motor Company and their Hybrid vehicles save the Motor City? If Michigan state lawmakers approve Ford’s request for tax credits, the automaker plans to consolidate hybrid research, development, engineering and manufacturing in the area. That means Ford may very well transform the region into a thriving metropolis—for the second time in a century. Ford's request came a day after GM’s announcement to invest heavily in the Volt plant there, too. Maybe those $9,000 houses in downtown D-town aren’t such a bad investment after all.
